Los Angeles: Stand-up comedian-actress Amy Schumer has been a fan of 'Hunger Games' star Jennifer Lawrence and the franchise even before she became pals with her.
The 34-year-old 'Trainwreck' star, who is now collaborating on a film with Lawrence, 25, says the bond they share is beyond making movies, said The Hollywood Reporter.
"My sister and I are crazy 'Hunger Games' fans... We just loved her, like everyone else. But, we don't need each other in terms of work, but it does feel like we need each other in terms of our friendship," Schumer said.
"There are just some things I feel like we really understand about each other. I believe people come into each other's lives when they need them, and Jen and I just kind of like clung to each other, like this is happening for a reason," she added The "Silver Linings Playbook" actress, who was also a fan of the comic star, sent her an email about making a movie together and Schumer soon started working on the script.
"I sent her like six or seven scenes and was like, 'Here's what I'm thinking.'," she said.'
