DanceHall Music Hit With An ''EARTHQUAKE'' In Ghana

Music has moved through revolution throughout the years. Once ago, it was the old type of Hip life. Then it changed to the new style of music we see today. The Dancehall type of music was at that time not very popular on our radio waves. But today, Dancehall music has become really competitive.

Heavy weights like Shatta Wale and Stonebwoyare working acidulously, making sure they stand tall in the Dancehall industry here in Ghana and across. From the look of things, both are not retiring anytime soon because, they keep dropping hits tunes week after week and that is making it very difficult for some upcoming acts. These two popular male artist have dominated Dancehall industry here in Ghana.

On the other side, the female side of the same genre has not all that tightened the competition. This I think is due to the fact that there are just countable ladies in the Dancehall industry here in Ghana.
Kaaki and Mzvee are doing one part of the Dancehall which is the singing part but not in the hardcore way. AK Songstress came in with a little raga to hers, which makes it a little harder as compared to that of Kaaki and Mzvee.

However, just like Shatta Wale hit the Dancehall some moment ago with people still thinking how it all happened, so is another contender. She is not actually new to many. A little background search reveals her as the leader and founder of the first ever female musical group in Ghana “Triple M” [3 M].

When it comes to Dancehall music, then I will say the other females in this genre has got a lot of work to do. This is because, she got it all, singing, the raga in pure Jamaican patwa. Dancehall is not been soft. She is thehard-core female artist. Some people refer to her as “Dancehall Godmother”, or “Dancehall Mama”. She is known by the name Shegee Styla. Her name even suggests that, she is a “torn in the flesh” in the male artists of the Dancehall music.

Watch out for her. Make up sometime and listen to her three singles “Let’s Go”, “Marking Time” and “Baawasa”. They are making hits each day on our radio waves. Make your own conclusion on her.

AM SORRY: Actor John Dumelo Apologize to Majid Michel

Actor Majid Michel and his wife Verna  renewed their wedding vows over the weekend after 10 years of successful marriage.

The ceremony took place at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel and was well attended by public figures and popular Ghanaian celebrities including former black Stars Captain Stephen Appiah, Movie Producer/Director Shirley Frimpong-Manso, actresses Yvonne Nelson, Martha Ankomah, Joselyn Dumas, Omar Sherrif, many others.

At the ceremony ,the Ladies man John Dumelo was absent and this is what he got to tell Majid:

"I'm sorry I missed your Special day yday. You know sometimes these private jets get over booked and flyingcommercial is stressful. But I know you had a magical "Vows Renewal" day. I've seen how you've grown to love your wife even more over the last decade even though I've know her longer than you.( don't be jealous). You guys make marriage such a sweet thing and I wish you nothing but more wonderful years together. You should remember that marriage is less about marrying the right person and more about becoming the right person. When you’re having an argument, listen to understand, don’t listen to find loopholes so you can win. Marriage is either a win/win or a lose/lose. You can’t win by "beating"someone else down. Don’t forget to laugh. Most couples spend the majority of their time talking logistics: who’s doing the house shopping, who’s calling the gardener, who’s picking up the kids. A relationship can’t survive on logistics. Have a water fight instead. Don't go to sleep when an argument hasn't been resolved. Sometimes just an "I'm sorry" would solve everything and Majid, don't forget to put the toilet seat up when peeing. ‪#‎loveyouguys‬ ‪#‎willmarrysoontoook‬? ‪#‎haveamelomoment‬"

When he was asked about the song choice in an interview with Tim Westwood, he said: “She’s my homie though. We knew each other since we were 14, 15 so with that kind of history, we are always going to be cool. I don’t get jealous. I don’t get mad. I got nothing but love and respect for her.” Aww, that’s amazing!

Jay Z’s Roc Nation Sports Facing $20 Million Lawsuit

First Jay Z’s streaming service Tidal was hit with a $50 million lawsuit by Cash Money’s Birdman. Now Hov’s other business Roc Nation Sports is facing a $20 million lawsuit from two boxing promoters.

According to The New York Daily News, Star Boxing’s Joe DeGuardia and Banner Promotions’ Artie Pelullo filed a suit last week in New York State Supreme court. DeGuardia and Pelullo claim Roc Nation attempted to steal boxer Demetrius “Boo Boo” Andrade away from them.

The complaint suggests Jay Z’s Roc Nation Sports offered Andrade $550,000 to reject a fight DeGuardia and Pelullo negotiated with Showtime. Roc Nation then planned to buy out his contract and become his new promoter, according to the suit.

Andrade pulled out of the Showtime deal, but Roc Nation is being accused of not paying Andrade the $550,000. The lawsuit also claims R.N. never bought out Andrade’s contract from DeGuardia and Pelullo.

“Roc Nation’s promise to Andrade was made under false pretenses, namely, that Roc Nation was negotiating to purchase Andrade’s contract from the promoters and thereafter would negotiate a more lucrative bout for Andrade on HBO,” states the lawsuit. “Ultimately, Andrade agreed to Roc Nation’s false inducements and spurned the professional boxing match the promoters had negotiated with Showtime.”

Andrade is the former World Boxing Organization light middleweight champion. His record currently stands at 21-0, 14 KOs. The Rhode Island native has not fought since June of 2014, and the WBO stripped him of his title for inactivity.

The Roc Nation Sports boxing roster includes Andre Ward, Miguel Cotto, Javier Flores, and more. The management company also represents other athletes such as Kevin Durant, Dez Bryant, Robinson Cano, Victor Cruz, and Skylar Diggins.

Cash Money Files $50 Million Lawsuit Against Tidal Over Free Weezy Album

Tidal used Lil Wayne in a “desperate and illegal attempt to save their struggling streaming service,” Cash Money Records claims in a new lawsuit.

The label filed a $50 million suit against Jay Z’s company over Wayne’s Free Weezy album, TMZ reports. While Tidal says Tunechi gave the company permission to stream the release, Birdman’s crumbling empire says otherwise. Cash Money asserts rights over all of the rapper’s music, because he is still contracted with the label.

Though FWA hit Tidal on Independence Day and was streamed over 10 million times in a week, it received “tepid reviews,” states the lawsuit.

Going for Hov is the latest episode in the story, which includes an alleged murder plot. Baby and his Rich Gang partner, Young Thug, were named in a 30-count indictment against Jimmy Winfrey, who is Thugger’s road manager.

Wayne, meanwhile, is suing Cash Money for $51 million, stating that he’s owed an $8 million advance for Tha Carter V, and royalties from his Young Money imprint.

Beyonce splashes out on £200,000 diamond stilettos for new music video

Beyonce is well known for her show-stopping costumes, having stepped into the limelight wearing next to nothing in her sexy leotards or overly embellished pieces.

And, it looks like the singer is set to impress once again in her next project.

As the boss of British brand, House of Borgezie, has revealed that they have sold the beauty a pair of bejewelled Princess Constellation heels that she will wear in her upcoming video.

The stilettos were sculpted in a boiling furnace by skilled jewellers before they were encrusted with 1,290 sparkling diamonds which weigh in at 65.60 carats.

They were inspired by the Paul Simon hit 'Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes' and has set Beyonce back an eye-watering £200,000.

Chris, who has been in the jewellery business for over 22 years, flew over to Los Angeles to meet the singer a few months ago and spent FOUR hours measuring her feet.

He added: "The word had gone around and I had a call from her people a couple of months ago.

"I went to America and spent four hours measuring her feet. It has to be down to the millimetre, once they are done there is no going back.

"She was really down to earth and really lovely and was very happy with the shoes.

"Beyonces just one of those fantasy customers.

"If you want someone to model your creations, you cant get any better than Beyonce.

"Ive been told the stilettos are for her next video which should be out in the autumn."

Chris, from Eccleshall, Staffs, launched his Constellation collection last May and two pairs have been sold with one going to a mystery buyer who lives in Dubai.

The shoes come with a lifetime guarantee and purchasers have their feet moulded in plaster of Paris.

He added: "They are the crown jewels of stilettos. They're a bit like the 1960s E Type Jag - it doesn't matter what you do, youre not going to improve on them.

"Occasionally in a designer or artists life there may come a moment in time when you stand back and realise you may just have created your finest work so far. I think this is truly that moment.

"Like any royal crown, the Princess Constellation will still be here in a thousand years time.

"Obviously I have sold shoes to people in Dubai who have so much money but Beyonce is the biggest public figure I have ever sold anything to."

* In July last year, Chris Shellis created the worlds most expensive clutch bag which costs a wallet-busting £105,000.

The du palais clutch bag, which measures 7in (17cm) by 5in (12cm) and weighs 542g, is crammed with 345 diamonds and 18ct gold clasps.

It took a dedicated team of goldsmiths and diamond setters more than 100 hours to create the bag, which comes with a secret compartment big enough for an iPhone.

Not every gospel songstress deserves to be a Pastor’s wife – Patience Nyarko

Gospel sensation Patience Nyarko who previously revealed she does not and has no intention of getting engaged to a man of God (pastor) has hit hard on her gospel artistes who doubles as Pastor’s wives “Asofo Maame” .

The gospel artist said some of these Pastors wives drive away souls from their husbands church with their dressing and attitude.

Due to such characters, Miss Nyarko said it is not every female gospel artists that deserves to be a pastor wife.

“Many gospel artists are collapsing their husbands’ churches. Some pastors are suffering because of their wives. Some of them because of the fame they have look down on their husbands

I will plead with pastors not to just jump into marriage with artists because they sing or have fame but rather marry women who can help them grow the church and keep the Lord’s ministry moving”, she advised

She said some Pastors wives don’t have time to support their husband at church and are always busy with showbiz activities; but it is their duty to support and work for the growth of the church.

She urged all pastors to be careful in choosing artists as wives since their mission in their work as men of God comes with a whole lot of responsibilities.

Explaining why she does not want to marry a Pastor on ATV’s “Angels Corner”, she noted she can’t just jump into a relationship with a Pastor because she sings but rather wait on God’s calling.

“Personally I have no intention of getting married to a man of God but if the time comes and that’s the direction God’s wants me to go, I can’t reject God’s calling.

But for me to just jump into a Pastor’s arm because of favor or just because I want to be called “Osofo Maame” has never existed in my world” she said.

The Trust Production singer who has her second album “Wafom Kwan” in the market further indicated that asgospel artists they are vessels of the Lord and must live their lives as such.

 In a latest social media post, Shatta wrote;

"Letter To the Industry...Share It..I was making a point maybe my approach was Bad but that point i was trying to make still holds...‪#‎NOTIME‬ ‪#‎KWIKIT‬ ‪#‎BHSM‬
LETTER TO THE INDUSTRY… PEACE, BE STILL_Mark 4:39

Every birth brings to every household good tidings and blessings. You and I brought joy on this plane and are blessings onto our folks and the universe as a whole.
The instance i set eyes on MAJESTY, calm and peace went up my spine, his cries were distinct with words saying "make peace daddy" I have struggled with this message for a while and prayed over it. Anytime i held him in my arms those are the words that resounds in my soul.

I have been through a lot and thankful to the lord for all my trials and tribulations. He made me strong and has always won victory for me in the face of adversity. He's kept his promise and has never disgraced me. He has in many ways spoken to me and I have listened. He's spoken to me again and I humbly oblige.

By this piece I am calling for a suspension of hostilities in our industry and would like to ask for pardon if by my actions or inactions caused grief to all industry persons.
My code of belief has always been to wrestle against sinister motives and overcome hurdles in our industry that seeks to pull down and impoverish the ghanaian artiste and the industry as a whole.

I mean well and hold on to my philosophy, I believe all in the industry shares the same vision and ask we joinforces to wrestle our demons to see our industry thrive for posterity.
Apologies to my brother Samini and his family, to Mr. Ayoade and the staff of charterhouse and GhOne, to every journalist, blogger, media house, presenter and my colleague artistes I may have stepped on.

Lately there's been an external attempt to start a feud between me and my younger brother Stonebwoy, but we are above it. Let's bust a tune fi dem, I say to my young brother.
To my brother Samini, I say we owe the world a collaboration and a worldwide Peace Tour.

I hope my message will not be misread and misconstrued. I am not asking Charterhouse to withdraw their case against me or sought after awards and also not seeking to win the media over. Thank you.

I am carrying out the highest order as a servant of God onto mankind.

God bless Ghana and our entertainment industry. Let's get together and forge ahead.
