Why are remakes made? I would think to take a crackling story that can stand the test of time, and tweak it to fit into the current scenario, so that the new audience gets to enjoy it too. But the exercise seems futile if the remake is also stuck in the same time as the original was, or perhaps goes further back.

This 'Hero' remake looked like it belonged to an era before the original 'Hero' in which Jackie Shroff and Meenakshi Seshadri sang the peppy and delightfully irreverent 'Ding Dong' song. That's another thing. The original film had a great story laced with abundant humour. Remember Bindu as the meddling, widowed bua and Sanjeev Kumar as the bumbling cop brother? Here, we have an IG (Tigmanshu Dhulia), who looked just plain upset all the time and a lead couple which took itself too seriously. Even though Sharad Kelkar, who replaces Sanjeev Kumar in this one, has a good screen presence, he's handicapped by the absence of anything substantial to say or do.

Nikhil Advani had a hit story, a fresh young pair of actors at his disposal and he unfortunately chose the safe route of the same old, with all the commercial trappings intact. For starters, hero's rippling muscles decorated with tattoos, are used in many ways; to show the Hero's invincibility and also to melt the heart of the coy, semi retarded heroine's heart. Talking about the heroine, Meenakshi Seshadri's character Radha in Subhash Ghai's 'Hero' had lot more spunk than this pretending to be badass one of 2015. Clearly not much thought is put into the screenplay. A shallow screenplay and a rather convoluted story flouting logic work against the film.

Sooraj Pancholi is good in parts, but then again he is limited by his one dimensional role. In how many different ways can one really frown? While he does seem vulnerable once in a while, otherwise he looked too well groomed, with not a hair out of place, to be the dangerous goon that he's playing. Athiya Shetty has the potential and looks good, but she needs to get more comfortable in her skin and in front of the camera. Probably with better roles and little more experience, she can be turned into an asset.

The best thing comes at the end. When you see Salman Khan crooning 'Main Hoon Hero Tera'. You wish some of that easy charm had rubbed off on the film.

Penny, Leonard get married in 'The Big Bang Theory' season 9 promo

Los Angeles: A new promo for the upcoming ninth season of hit sitcom 'The Big Bang Theory' gives a first look at Penny and Leonard's wedding in Las Vegas and their awkward wedding night.

The newly released video sees Penny (Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting) and Leonard (Johnny Galecki) in their wedding attire as they prepare to walk down the aisle. She rocks a mini pink dress, while the groom dons a dark suit, reported Aceshowbiz.

Sheldon (Jim Parsons), Howard (Simon Helberg), Raj (Kunal Nayyar), Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) and Amy (Mayim Bialik) are seemingly watching via satellite.

It also offers a glimpse of the newlyweds' awkward wedding night as Leonard tries to carry his new wife from the aisle into their honeymoon suite.

"It's season nine and Leonard has been pursuing her since minute three of the series," showrunner Steve Molaro explained why it's the right time for the couple to finally tie the knot.

"Even Penny, with all of her commitment issues, is in a mindset of, 'Are we moving forward with this or not? What are we doing?' And they do."

But that's far from a happy ending as things will get complicated when Penny learns that Leonard kissed another woman, Mandy (Melissa Tang), during his North Sea expedition two years ago.

On how this will affect the couple's relationship, Molaro teased, "I think when you're Penny, and you have an image that you've cultivated of a person for eight years now and those two things aren't aligning anymore - that can be a difficult thing to deal with."

Penny and Leonard's marriage will also be a new challenge for Sheldon, who has been inseparable from Leonard.

"They're trying to all figure it out. We jokingly alluded to the fact that in some way the three of them are kind of married and I think the three of them will need to figure out how this is going to work."

Is Beyoncé Finally Ready To Divorce Jay Z?

The rumors of Beyoncé and Jay Z being on the rocks have returned… with a vengeance! And this time there are whispers that the end of their matrimony-dom is near.

According to RadarOnline reports:

     Fans expected an on-stage appearance at the Made In America Festival when it came time for for Jay Z’s rap verse in Beyonce’s hit song “Drunk In Love,” but instead, the married couple did not even feign wedded bliss. After years of suspected infidelity by the father of her three-year-old daughter Blue Ivy, Beyonce has reportedly had it with the entire phony charade. “It’s dead,” an insider told In Touch. “Bey is sick of keeping up the ruse of happiness, and she’s done.”

    So done, in fact, that she has not granted a single interview in the past 18 months — or just before her sister Solange had her notorious elevator outburst in which she attacked Jay Z as Beyonce looked on stoically. “It’s like she’s on lockdown and doesn’t want to be asked about her marriage or why she and Jay haven’t had another child after Blue Ivy,” the insider shared. “But in private, she’s already told friends and family that she’s moving forward with her life. She’ll soon make a public announcement that their marriage is over.”

    Rumors have swirled for years that Jay-Z has been cheating on Queen Bey with everyone from Rihanna, to Rachel Roy, to Rita Ora, who has vehemently denied having a fling with the rapper. The decision to finally divorce comes weeks after the couple allegedly had a huge blowup leading up to the MTV Video Music Awards. “Earlier this summer, Bey found some suspicious texts on Jay’s phone that led her to believe he was having a secret flirtatious communication with one of his [female] proteges,” a source told In Touch. Beyonce’s been on high alert for some time and took her new suspicions to one of Jay Z’s right hand men, who told her she needed to take that up with her husband. To Bey, that was a confirmation of her worst suspicions and fears.”

    Then, In Touch reports, things came to a head when Jay Z asked Beyonce to come with him to the VMA’s as a “show of public solidarity.” Unable to conceal her disdain, she let her husband know what was on her mind. “She couldn’t figure out why Jay would want to go when they’re at a point where they can barely stand to look at each other. She made a comment about Jay only wanting to go to see Rita Ora and he laughed and twirled his finger in circles around his head, making a sign like Bey was crazy.”

    Then, Beyonce reportedly blew up. “[She] demanded to see his phone, but he wouldn’t let her,” the source revealed. “He started screaming back at her, and this went on for 20 minutes until Beyonce pulled herself together and warned Jay that he was messing with the wrong woman. Then she picked up her bag and walked out.”

    Now, the source says, the musical diva is crafting a strategy surrounding her next move. “She is fully in charge of how the divorce announcement is going to be made… She is going to play the victim card to the hilt.”

    Meanwhile, only time will tell how their daughter will adjust to the split. “Blue Ivy is both a reason to stay married and a reason to divorce, an insider close to the couple said. “While Beyonce knows that Blue needs a father figure, she doesn’t want her to grow up in the same way she did,” referring to her parents’ troubled marriage. “She absolutely wants full custody, although she is fully prepared to offer Jay visitation.”

"I'm the reason Samini got to record his album with Nana King. I went to the studio one day and Nana King told me he wanted to to listen to Samini's song and let him know if he was good so he will record him. "Sonni Balli introduced him to Nana King  but I had to do that approval. If I had said no then Nana King wouldn't have put him out. I had to approve his songs before we recorded him. "When you come to this current generation. Bandana was a Hiplife artist. His Bandana from Ghana doesnt have any dancehall on it. He later diveted to Dancehall. No one was even playing his records. People had different idea of Dancehall back then."

British Man Jailed For Repeatedly Claiming To Be Nicki Minaj

A British man has been jailed for four months after repeating calling emergency phone services claiming to be Nicki Minaj. While this normally wouldn't be a critical offense, 24 year-old Stephen Brown's claims were part of a string of calls made to the emergency phone service earlier this year. He previously called emergency services claiming that two men were attacking him before hanging up and calling back saying he wanted tocancel the first call, that he was Nicki Minaj and that there was a poltergeist in his house, according to NY Daily News.

While in court appealing a sentence for breaching the Anti-Social Behaviour Order, the judge sentenced Brown to four months in jail calling him a "nuissance" but recognizing that he clearly needs help after his defense attorney described him as a chronic alcoholic. Brown is still banned him from making any more emergency callsunless he is in an actual emergency.

Hip-hop Mogul Puff Diddy Will Not Be Charged In UCLA Assault

Puffy will not be charged in the UCLA assault case he caught back in June, TMZ reports.

The hip-hop mogul allegedly had a violent confrontation with UCLA strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi on campus while confronting him for sending his son, Justin, home from practice. Puff allegedly swung a kettle bell at Alosi. He was arrested on charges of battery, making terrorist threats and three counts of assault with a deadly weapon.

Mr. Combs will appear in court on Oct. 15th with his lawyer, Mark Geragos, and others involved in the encounter. At the hearing, the L.A City Attorney could issue him a warning about his temper or mandate him to attend anger management classes.
