"I'm working really hard and my storytelling is elevating, my ability to be eloquent with my body and with my voice and to deliver ideas as an actor is elevating. And, you know, as I look at the political landscape, I think that there might be a future out there for me. They might need me out there," Smith told hollywoodreporter.com on its "Awards Chatter" podcast series.
The actor said he's "incensed" with the current state of politics, and is therefore weighing up the idea of making a dramatic career switch.
"This is the first year that I've been incensed to a level that I can't sleep, you know? So I'm feeling that at some point, in the near future, I will have to lend my voice to the conversation in a somewhat different way," the "I Am Legend" actor said.
Meanwhile, the "Hitch" actor also said that his career success can be largely credited to his work ethic.
"I don't consider myself particularly talented - I consider myself slightly above average in talent - but nobody's going to outwork me. I'll take a slight talent and then add the skill to it and can make it look magnificent, you know," he said.

Idris Elba almost DIED in Ghana

Idris Elba almost died whiles on set on his new movie entitled "Beasts of No Nation" in Ghana. What happened was that, the 43 years old actor, was on set in a tense scene near a waterfall in Ghana when his foot slipped off a rock and the branch he held on to snapped.
This is what He said:

"I nearly died. I was doing this scene - we decided to do this waterfall scene where all these child soldiers were walking behind this massive waterfall."Cary Fukunaga, the director, decided to shoot it for real. We went to thiswaterfall and in this scene my character is standing there watching all the child soldiers go past. Now in the setup of that, the stunt co-ordinator says, 'Listen everyone, this is a waterfall, that's a 90, 100 foot drop down there and the ground is very slippery, just be careful!'

"I put my foot on this rock just to hang out and chill out while they were setting up and as I'm doing that it's slippery, obviously. I slip... I put my hand on this tree - it's not a tree, it's a branch. It snaps and I go literally about six feet before I go bang over and I got caught by the security guy!
