Disney-Pixar's 'The Good Dinosaur' features an original score by Oscar-winning composer of 'Life Of Pi', Mychael Danna and Emmy-nominated composer Jeff Danna.
Releasing on 4th December, the film asks the question: What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct? The story revolves around an Apatosaurus named Arlo (voice of Raymond Ochoa) who makes an unlikely human friend. While traveling through a harsh and mysterious landscape, Arlo learns the power of confronting his fears and discovers what he is truly capable of.
Mychael Danna is an Academy Award-winning film composer recogniSed for his evocative blending of non-western traditions with orchestral and electronic music. He invited his younger brother Jeff, 50, to join him and Jeff didn’t hesitate.
"When we first met with the (Pixar) team, they said, 'Give us tunes and melodies that get to the heart of the story,'" says Mychael.
"But within that we wanted to make an orchestral score because the vistas are huge in the movie and we wanted the three-dimensional affect of a large orchestra, but with lots of alternate colours." he says.
