Singh was apparently the first choice to host the Indian adaptation of an international show
Television producers, it seems, have been trying hard to lure Ranveer Singh into the small screen business, but he has consciously steered clear of the tube. Quite recently, the actor was approached to host the Indian adaptation of British TV series 'Tonight's The Night', but he turned it down. The makers eventually roped in Amitabh Bachchan for the non-fiction show.

Says a source, "The show producers wanted a fresh face to host the desi version of 'Tonight's The Night'. So, they met a few young actors. They had seen Ranveer's hosting skills at an awards ceremony and felt he would be ideal to entertain the audience that is part of this reality show in which ordinary people get the chance to live out their fantasies. The actor had showed interest initially, but later informed the makers about his unavailability."
Last year, Ranveer was offered the Indian adaptation of 'Who's Asking' — 'India Poochega Sabse Shaana Kaun' — and on his refusal, the makers signed Shah Rukh Khan. This time round, for the adaptation of 'Tonight's The Night', the makers tried to bait him in with a lucrative deal, but he still turned it down. "They were offering him a whopping amount, but Ranveer thinks it is too early for him to venture into television."
Ranveer's spokesperson confirms the buzz and says, "Ranveer has received multiple offers for television shows but he has passed up on all of them in order to remain singularly focused on (his upcoming film) 'Bajirao Mastani'."
