American Music Awards 2015: Nicki Minaj Beats Drake for Favorite Hip-Hop Album Award

During the event, Luke Bryan was also announced as the winner of the Favorite Male Country Artist title while Sam Hunt took home the New Artist of the Year Award.

The 2015 American Music Awards continued. Now underway at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, the event kept viewers entertained with exciting performances by a bunch of A-list musicians in the line-up. However, Meghan Trainor managed to steal the spotlight as she had one wild moment with her collaborator Charlie Puth during their set.

Showing off her amazing vocals as usual, she delivered a rendition of "Like I'm Gonna Lose You" before launching into her collaborative hit with Puth, "Marvin Gaye". The duo closed out their set by making out in front of the entire audience.

While everyone still couldn't get over Trainor and Puth's kiss, Luke Bryan was announced as the winner in the Favorite Male Country Artist category to no one's surprise. The hunk beat out fellow nominees like Sam Hunt and Jason Aldean.

After presenting the Favorite Duo/Group - Pop/Rock title to One Direction earlier in the night, Nicki Minaj returned to the stage to collect the Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album Award. Her "The Pinkprint" edged out competitors in the category, including pal Drake's "If You're Reading This It's Too Late" and J. Cole's "2014 Forest Hills Drive".

Accepting her prize from Kylie Jenner and Gigi Hadid, the Young Money first lady called her supporters "thebest fans on the planet" during her speech. She thanked them and tell them to "find your voice and find your purpose before it's too late."

Other names on the winners list included Sam Hunt, who bagged the New Artist of the Year Award. Previously, the cast members of "Pitch Perfect 2" took over the show as the film's soundtrack won over "Fifty Shades of Grey" and "Empire" in the Favorite Soundtrack category.
