DanceHall Music Hit With An ''EARTHQUAKE'' In Ghana

Music has moved through revolution throughout the years. Once ago, it was the old type of Hip life. Then it changed to the new style of music we see today. The Dancehall type of music was at that time not very popular on our radio waves. But today, Dancehall music has become really competitive.

Heavy weights like Shatta Wale and Stonebwoyare working acidulously, making sure they stand tall in the Dancehall industry here in Ghana and across. From the look of things, both are not retiring anytime soon because, they keep dropping hits tunes week after week and that is making it very difficult for some upcoming acts. These two popular male artist have dominated Dancehall industry here in Ghana.

On the other side, the female side of the same genre has not all that tightened the competition. This I think is due to the fact that there are just countable ladies in the Dancehall industry here in Ghana.
Kaaki and Mzvee are doing one part of the Dancehall which is the singing part but not in the hardcore way. AK Songstress came in with a little raga to hers, which makes it a little harder as compared to that of Kaaki and Mzvee.

However, just like Shatta Wale hit the Dancehall some moment ago with people still thinking how it all happened, so is another contender. She is not actually new to many. A little background search reveals her as the leader and founder of the first ever female musical group in Ghana “Triple M” [3 M].

When it comes to Dancehall music, then I will say the other females in this genre has got a lot of work to do. This is because, she got it all, singing, the raga in pure Jamaican patwa. Dancehall is not been soft. She is thehard-core female artist. Some people refer to her as “Dancehall Godmother”, or “Dancehall Mama”. She is known by the name Shegee Styla. Her name even suggests that, she is a “torn in the flesh” in the male artists of the Dancehall music.

Watch out for her. Make up sometime and listen to her three singles “Let’s Go”, “Marking Time” and “Baawasa”. They are making hits each day on our radio waves. Make your own conclusion on her.
