Information indicates that the University for Development Studies (UDS) from Ghana has successfully beaten the University of Granada from Spain 5-4 via penalty kicks to clinch an unprecedented place at the Grand Finale of the ongoing FISU Football World Cup in Dalian, China.

The University for Development Studies (UDS) from Ghana and representing the entire African continent has beaten the Kyungil University of South Korea by 5 goals to 2 to successfully qualify to the semi finals of the 2025 FISU Football World Cup underway in China.

EARLY WARNING SYSTEMS WORKSHOP ACTIVATED FOR MEDIA PRACTITIONERS IN THE CENTRAL REGION

A special select group of media practitioners have been taken through a capacity building session in a one-day workshop organized by the Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMeT) at the Coconut Grove Hotel, Elmina.

A total of fifty-three (53) media practitioners including staff of GMeT drawn from the four (4) zones of the Central Region were exposed to lexicons that underpin weather reportage, and most importantly delivering such info-packs in a timely, responsive and communicative manner so as to elicit the corresponding results to augment national development.

Speaking during the opening ceremony of the workshop, Dr. Ignatius Kweku Williams, Deputy Director, In-charge, Operations, GMeT, disclosed that his outfit will continue to live up to the vision and mission that brought it into existence. He did also assure the nation and beyond of meeting the growing demands of GMeT, so as to help save lives, properties as well as reducing the extent of damages to the barest minimum in times of unforeseen occurrences.

On her part, the Head, Central Analysis and Forecasting Office (CAFO), Ms. Felicity Ahafianyo, stated that the future of weather reportage will never be the same again, based on the relationship which has been strengthened between GMeT and the media.

She added that CAFO is a specialized unit within GMeT operating 24/7 to provide comprehensive meteorological services from nowcasting to medium-range weather forecasting.

Ms. Ahafianyo also reminded the participants that CAFO continuously monitors and forecasts precipitation hazards, temperature extremes, sky conditions, as well as visibility and air quality to complement the efforts of government to develop Ghana.

Facilitators including Ms. Felicity Ahafianyo, Head, Central Analysis & Forecasting Office (CAFO), GMeT, Mr. Joshua Asamoah, Senior Meteorologist, GMeT, Mr. Thomas Biney amongst others did walk the participants through several areas so as to be better positioned to disseminate the gospel according to weather reportage.

It was agreed at the one-day workshop that other parts of the nation, Ghana will get to benefit from the ongoing capacity sessions by GMeT. Additional information on can be gleaned via client@meteo.gov.gh or cafo@meteo.gov.gh

Records have it that GMeT is more than a century old thus all efforts are being made to enable it meet the growing demands of the modern era since its birth in 1886 somewhere at the Aburi Gardens in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

Sohail Khan and Seema Khan were spotted at Family Court in BKC

On Friday, actor-producer Sohail Khan and fashion designer-wife Seema Sachdev Khan filed for divorce at the Family Court in Bandra. The two had tied the knot in 1998 and are parents to Nirvaan, 22, and Yohan, 11. The couple reached the court around 12 noon, appearing before judge Maqdoom on the fourth floor to initiate the verification process that is required for their application. Sasha Obama’s Boyfriend Revealed As 24-Year-Old Basketball Star and Son of Popular Actor

Sasha Obama’s boyfriend has been revealed after her mother Michelle Obama took to The Ellen Show to reveal that her daughters have boyfriends.

20-year-old Sasha, the second daughter of former US President Barack Obama is dating Clifton Powell Jr., 24.

She debuted her new romance with him this week after her mother said both daughters now bring grown men home.

Photos show Sasha, 20, looking happy while out and about with her boyfriend this week.

Sasha’s new man, who stands at six-foot-five-inches, is the son of acclaimed actor Clifton Powell, 66.

The 24-year-old is also a former college basketball star who now works as a commercial director creating content for brands like Nike and Peloton.

He was also close friends with Ian Alexander Jr. – the only son of Powell’s Ray co-star Regina King, who tragically took his own life in January at age 25.

The couple are believed to have gotten together after Sasha moved to Los Angeles – where he is based – last August, after dropping her studies at the University of Michigan and switching to a course at University of Southern California.
